The adventure arranged to visit Lhasa for 4 nights, Shigatse for 2 nights, Everest Base Camp for 1 night.
You will stay in a nice 3 star Hotel in Lhasa and the best available in other places.
Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa
Your Tibetan guide will greet you at the Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa railway station and transfer you to your hotel in the city. After checking into your hotel, the remainder of the day is free for you to rest and adapt to the high altitude in Tibet.
Day 02: Lhasa City Sightseeing (B)
This morning we will visit Potala Palace, which is the residence of the lineage of Dalai Lamas. Then we will visit Jokhang Temple. It is the most sacred Buddhist venue in Tibetan. Walk out of Jokhang Temple, we will wander around Barkhor Street, which surrounds the Jokhang Temple. It is also a popular shopping district where you can buy gifts and souvenirs.
Lhasa old town remaines largely unchanged for centuries. You can visit the outdoor markets and specialty stores of handmade bags, carpets, and other Tibet art works.
Optional program: In the evening, You can choose to see a local Tibetan singing and dancing performance.
Day 03: Lhasa tour: Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery(B)
Today we will visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Drepung is known for its political position,while Sera is famouse for its Buddhism research and study. After Drepung tour, we will visit a Tibetan Carpet Factory. In the afternoon, we will visit Sera monastery. It’s famous debating performance taking place between 3 pm to 5pm.
Day 04: Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake to Gyantse to Shigatse (B)
It will be a long drive today. Passing by the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdro-tso lakes, karo-la glacier, we continue drive to the second biggest city of Shigatse in Tibet. On the way, we will take a tour to Yamdro-tso Lake and Kubum monastery in Gyantse.
Day 05: Shigatse to Lhatse to Shegar to Rongphu Monaserty (B)
Drive to Tingri along the Friendship high way. If it is clear weather, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains over 8000m high or more, such as Mt. Lhotse(8516m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Qowowuyag(8201m), Mt Mayalu(8463m). We will stay at Rongphu Monastery Tent or Guest House.
Note: It is cold and windy in the valley, we suggest you taking a sleeping bag with you. Also, food options are scarce, so be sure to prepare for providing your own meals at Rongbuk.
Day 06: Rongphu monastery to E.B.C to Shegar (B)
You may view the sunrise in the early morning. You can walk to the local bus stop and take the bus to Everest Base camp (Or you also can trekking to Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. It’s interesting and much warmer, but hard to breath). Hiking up to the top of the photo point to take pictures. In the afternoon, walk down from E.B.C and drive to Tingri and then to Shigaste.
Day 07: Shigatse to Lhasa (B)
This morning we will visit Tashilunpo monastery, which is one of the six prominent yellow hat sect monasteries and is the seat of the Panchen Lama lineage. There is a massive Jamba Buddha Statue is well-known in Tibet. There is a path around the monastery that provides a great view of the whole city of Shigatse.
In the afternoon, drive back to Lhasa along the Northern Friendship Highway with marvelous landscapes and scenery along the Brahmaputra River.
Day 08: Lhasa airport or train station drop off(B)
Your guide and driver will send you to the airport or train station for your next destination. The end of your Tibet Mt. Everest tour.
