We start our journey in the plains of India all the way to the rolling hills of Kalimpong. The vast Meadows covered with a riot of wild flowers, the sparkling brooks and rivulets meandering lazily by the terraced fields. This tour package incorporates a wide range of activities and experiences, providing you with a varied holiday at the foothills of the magnificent snow-capped mountains. Also, stay with a Sikkimese family while engaging in various activities from milking a cow and churning butter to making cheese. Visit to the pilgrimage site of Khecheopalri Lake, which is considered to be a holy lake by both the Buddhists and the Hindus. And for the tea lovers, Darjeeling produces some of the finest tea in the world.

Route: Bagdogra -> Kalimpong -> Pelling -> Yuksam -> Kewzing -> Darjeeling -> Bagdogra.
Day 1: Delhi-NJP/IXB-Kalimpong
Upon arrival at the airport/station our representative will meet and greet you. We take a short break to refresh ourselves before we travel to Kalimpong. The road is all plain and scenic till the coronation bridge and slowly starts to meander as it follows the river Teesta till Teesta Bazaar. Thereafter we ascend rapidly to Kalimpong. Day 2: Kalimpong- Pemayangtse (B,D)
AM drive to Pemayangtse via Melli, Jorethang and Legship. We stop at Melli check post for immigration clearance and continue drive to Pelling. The drive is very picturesque as we meander along the Rangit River. From Legship we start ascending to higher elevation to Pelling. We check into hotel upon arrival and visit the Rabdentse Palace Ruins, which is 30 minute walk through the forest, the palace lies on a mountain ridge overlooking the Rangit River valley. From here you can also see the Pemayangtse Monastery perched on a hill with a background of Mt. Khangchenjunga standing majestically. Just a short hike downhill and then a short climb uphill will reach you to the main road and then another short walk uphill along the main road will take you to the Pemayangtse Monastery. After visiting the Pemayangtse Monastery, we retire for the day and return to Hotel. Distance Travelled: 89 km, Time Taken: 3.5 hrs
Day 3: Pemayangtse – Yuksam (B,D)
AM drive to Khecheopalri/Wishing lake. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs drive to reach the lake. The lake is 15 minutes walk from the vehicle parking area, where we also bypass a nunnery. The pilgrims take incense sticks as offerings.
After a visit to the lake we continue drive to Yuksam. On the way we stop at Khangchenjunga waterfalls for a short refreshing break. Upon arrival in Yuksam, we check into hotel. The afternoon can be spent in visiting the Norbugang Coronation Throne and Kathok Lake (Kathok is also sacred Lake and religious site for Buddhists). In the evening one can walk around the small bustling town of Yuksam.
A hike to the Dubdi Monastery can also be organized after lunch. (Optional)

Day 4: Yuksam – Tashiding – Kewzing (B,D)
AM we drive to Tashiding Monastery, is considered to be one of the holiest monasteries in Sikkim. We come across various waterfalls on the way, Phamrong Waterfalls is one of the Biggest and the best. As we reach Tashiding, we drive to a certain extent of the road from where you hike up hill to the monastery. The Monastery is one of the most beautiful monuments. Its surrounded by vibrant coloured rock tiles with prayers written on it; there are various coloured stupas built in memorial of important Lamas and People; The paintings inside the monastery is intricate; and you will always find old women, monks circling the monastery with prayer wheels. After visiting the Tashiding monastery, we drive to Kewzing a Bhutia Village where the people are mostly Buddhists. A warm welcome reception will be organized at the Kewzing monastery where the Head Monk will welcome the guests with Khadas and tea and snacks will be served. Afterwards the homestay operators will take the guests to their respective homestays. At the Homestays the guests will spend time interacting with the family members; get involved in the activities of the villagers; dine with the family and even participate in the morning and evening rituals of the family. Day 5: Kewzing Village Excursion (B,D)
AM take a short hike in the morning to Mangbrue and the Lepcha Monastery. The Mendangs (long stone chortens) lies at the ridge of the mountain overlooking the valley of west Sikkim. Further uphill lies the Lepcha Monastery, one of its only kind in Sikkim and a very old structure. The monastery is rich in history, relics and culture. On a clear day one can see the mountain ranges of Khangchenjunga very clearly. Between the Monastery and the Mangbrue Mendangs lie some historical monuments of the Bhutanese invasion in Sikkim. For those interested in bird-watching, Kewzing is a paradise for bird watchers with almost 150 varieties of bird found in this region. On the way back you can pop into the Handicraft Centre and see some exquisite handicrafts they make in Sikkim.
After breakfast we take a village walk to Doling Monastery which is approximately 2-3 km. Doling in Bhutia means a swinging stone. The villagers believe that the stone is sacred and people are not supposed to stamp or climb on top of it. Their beliefs are that if a person ever climbs on top, he or she will die soon or instantly. The walk to the monastery is through the cardamom forests and rich forest cover. Along the way are many mendangs (long chortens) and water prayer wheels which are constructed to subject the bad spirits living in the region.
After returning to the Village late in the afternoon a hot stone bath can be prepared for those willing to experience or relax after the days tour walk.

Day 6: Kewzing – Namchi – Darjeeling (B,D)
AM drive to Darjeeling. The drive to Darjeeling is via Ravangla and Namchi. As we drive through Ravangla, spectacular mountain views are seen. The drive from Ravangla is very scenic as we drive on the mountain ridge overlooking the valleys on both sides. Spectacular mountain views are seen on a clear day. After Reaching Namchi we start descending down to the Teesta River Valley to Jorethang. At Jorethang, we complete immigration formalities and exit out of Sikkim and drive to Darjeeling. A short drive along the main highway and we start ascending to Darjeeling through the tea estates. The drive to Darjeeling is a steep ascent through various tea estates. We stop along the way to witness how people pick tea through the sloping hills. We make regular intervals for short tea breaks and vantage points. We arrive at Ghoom Railway station, one of the highest railway stations in India and descend to Darjeeling thereafter.

Day 7: Darjeeling Sightseeing (B,D)
AM we drive to Happy Valley Tea Estate to witness the manufacturing of Tea and how it is packaged for export. The Tea Estate is 20 minutes hike down from the main road and takes approximately 30 min to hike back. After a tour of the tea estates we visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which is located at a close proximity.
PM we drive to the Railway Station to take a Joy ride in the Famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railways. The tour is approximately 2 hrs. Upon Arrival at the Railway Station in GHOOM, we visit the Ghoom Monastery followed by a visit to the Dali Monastery at Bloomfield Road.

Day 8: Darjeeling – Bagdogra/NJP Departure (B)
After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra/NJP.
