Day 1. Arrival in Paro-Thimphu (L,D)
You will arrive at Paro Airport, Buhtan. Our representative will be at the airport to meet you and transfer you to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Check into the hotel in Thimphu and have a short break. In the afternoon, visit the Trashi choe dzong. This is the center of government and religion of Bhutan.

We will do some free walk around Thimphu main street and market area in the evening.

Day 2. Thimphu (B,L,D)
All your breakfasts are served at the hotel you stay. Today we will visit Buddha point(Kuensel phodrang) in the city center. Drive to the Changangkha monastery, an old and sacred monastery built in the 12th century. Later, drive to Takin zoo, in which we will see the National animal of Bhutan. Afterwards, drive to Sangay Gang which is the view point of Thimphu city. Continue our tour to visit the institute for Zorig Chusum. We will also visit Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum, King’s Memorial Chorten, and lastly visit Semtokha Dzong (fortress).

We will visit the National stadium of Bhutan in in evening if time allows. .

Day 3. Thimphu- Punakha (B,L,D)
Visit Semtokha dzong, one of the oldest dzong in the country built in 15 century by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, the man who unified the Kingdom of Bhutan. Then drive to Punakha about 3 hours. We will drive through the Dochula pass to view the most spectacular of the high peaks of eastern Himalayas . We will stop at Lamperi and visit the Royal botanical park.
After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong built in 1637. This majestic Dzong served as both religious and the administrative center of Bhutan in the past. It measures some 600 by 240 feet and has a six story ,gold –domed tower. Punakha is the most significant, historical and beautiful dzong (town or city) in Bhutan.

Day 4. Punakha-Paro (B,L,D)
Today we drive to Paro. On the way we will stop to hike to Chimmi Lhakhang through paddy fields and villages. It takes about one hour.

After lunch, visit Tadzong, the National Museum. The collections in the museum include antique Thangka paintings, textiles, weapons and armor, house hold objects and a rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts.

Afterwards, drive down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong. Along the wooden galleries lining the inner court yard are fine wall paintings illustrating Buddhist lore such as four friends, the old man of long life the wheel of life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, and other cosmic mandala.

After that we will walk down to the bridge and see the cantilever wooden bridge even using today. Then drive towards North of Paro, visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo in 8th century. The building of this temple marks the introduction of Buddhism to Bhutan.

Further drive to Drukgyel Dzong built in 16th century, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. The snowy dome of scared Jomolhari can be seen on the way.

Day 5. Paro (B,L,D)
After the breakfast, excursion to Taktsang Monastery. It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries perched on the side of a cliff 900M above the Paro valley floor. It’s said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tiger and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called “Tiger’s Nest”. This site has been recognized as a most sacred place. All Bhutanese visit it once in their life time.

Walk back to the hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 06. Paro departure (B)
After the early breakfast, transfer you to Paro Airport to your onward destination.

In Thimphu: Kisa Hotel, Namgay Heritage, Wangchuk Resort, Jumolhari, River View.
If you are looking for home /local family experience, then stay at Gayul Home.

In Punakha or Wangdue: Punatsangchu, Damchen or Meri Phuensum.

In Gangtey: the only good standard accommodation is Dewachen. All others in Gangtey are basic.

Varieties of hotel choices are available in Thimphu and Paro but fewer choices for Punakha – Wangdue and Gangtey.

If you wish to stay at luxury type; our recommendations are Uma Resort or Zhiwaling in Paro and in Taj Tashi in Thimphu. In Punakha and Gangtey, the only luxury choice is in Aman Resorts. Alternatively, you can stay in luxury resorts in Paro and Thimphu and while at other places, stay in regular tourist hotels.

Staying in luxury hotels, the prices will be adjusted.
