What to Expect

You can apply Mongolian visa at Mongolian Embassy or Consulate in your country. Applying Mongolian visa, you need to bring the following items to the Embassy.

• Your valid passport with at least one blank page
• Two copies of recent passport size photograph
• Visa fees. Generally Mongolian visa costs from $25 to $70 depends on types of visa

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Ulaanbaatar (D)

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. We arrange a tour to visit Museum of Natural History with its splendid collection of Dinosaur exhibits. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2Ulaanbaatar-Bayangobi (B, L, D)

Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to Bayangobi (175 miles) by private vehicle. Upon arrival late afternoon, we will visit a horse-breeder’s camp, and see how the Airag (the Mongolian national drink of fermented mare’s milk) is made. Horseback riding on Mongolian wooden saddles. Return to base camp and stay overnight at Ger camp in Bayangobi.

Day 3Bayangobi-Karakorum (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast, we will drive to Karakorum (50 miles). Visit Erdene Zuu, one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia which was badly destroyed in the 1930s. We also visit the symbolic ruins of Karakorum, The capital of the Mongol Empire in 13th century. Return to the base camp for dinner and overnight in the Ger.

Day 4Karakorum-Ulaanbaatar (B, L, D)

Breakfast at base camp. Today we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we’ll visit Hustain Nuruu (Pike Hustai) National Reserve to see Przewalski wild horses. Dinner at the hotel in Ulaanbatar.

Day 5Ulaanbaatar (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will take a tour to Gandan Monastery, then visit the Fine Arts Museum and the Museum of Mongolian History. We will enjoy a Mongolian cultural performance in the evening. After the show, transfer to your hotel.

Day 6Ulaanbaatar-Gobi Desert (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Gobi base camp. Lunch at base camp. In the late afternoon, visit a camel breeder camp, a camel riding session, and explore the nomad’s lifestyle. Enjoy a peaceful evening in the Gobi Desert. Overnight in a Mongolian Ger.

Day 7Gobi Desert-Eagle Valley (B, L, D)

Have breakfast at the base camp. Visit Eagle Valley National Park for a morning trek, enjoy stunning landscape, Gobi Glacier and intriguing wildlife. Picnic lunch in National Park, leisure hiking. Return to base camp for dinner. Overnight in the Ger.

Day 8Gobi Desert-Flaming Cliffs (B, L, D)

Breakfast at base camp. A day trip to Bayan Zag, the Flaming Cliffs for exploring the Gobi “Commentary of Dinosaurs” and the trail of Roy Chapman Andrews. Return to base camp.

Day 9Gobi Desert-Ulaanbaatar (B, L, D)

We will take a morning flight to Ulaanbaatar. After lunch, tour Bogd Gegen Palace, home of the last Mongolian Khan who ruled until 1924. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10Ulaanbaatar-Tsonjin Boldog (B, L, D)

Early breakfast at hotel. Drive to Tsonjin Boldog to the Chinggis Khaan statue. Overnight in Ger camp.

Day 11Tsonjin – Ulaanbaatar (B, L, D)

Free time at the camp. Possible hiking and horse riding. Return to Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon.

Day 12Ulaanbaatar Departure (B)

After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home or next destination.
