This is the ultimate Tibet adventure. Journey overland from Lhasa across the Tibetan plateau, through dramatic mountain passes and sacred lakes, all the way to Everest Base Camp at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet). Standing face-to-face with Mount Everest — 8,848 meters, the highest point on Earth — is a life-defining experience. Free portable oxygen bottles are in our vehicle throughout the entire journey.

Day by Day

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Lhasa — Acclimatization

Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (3,570m). Transfer to your 5-star hotel in Lhasa (3,656m). Rest and acclimatize — in-room oxygen available. Evening welcome orientation. Overnight: 5-star hotel, Lhasa.

Day 2

Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street

Full day exploring Lhasa's iconic landmarks. Morning at the majestic Potala Palace, then the sacred Jokhang Temple — the most revered shrine in Tibet — followed by Barkhor Street. Overnight: 5-star hotel, Lhasa.

Day 3

Drepung Monastery — Drive to Gyantse

Morning visit to Drepung Monastery, then drive toward Gyantse via the stunning Kamba La Pass with views over Yamdrok Lake (4,441m). Visit Pelkor Chode Monastery in Gyantse. Overnight: hotel, Gyantse.

Day 4

Gyantse — Shigatse — Tashilhunpo Monastery

Morning visit to Gyantse Dzong fortress. Drive to Shigatse — Tibet's second-largest city. Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama. Overnight: hotel, Shigatse.

Day 5

Drive to Everest Base Camp

A dramatic full-day drive across the Tibetan plateau, crossing the Gyawu La Pass (5,210m) with extraordinary mountain views. Arrive at Everest Base Camp (5,200m) in the late afternoon. Watch the sunset over Mount Everest. Free portable oxygen available throughout. Overnight: best available accommodation near EBC (with in-room oxygen).

Day 6

Everest Base Camp — Sunrise — Return to Shigatse

Wake early for the spectacular Everest sunrise. Spend the morning at Base Camp taking in the awe-inspiring views of Everest (8,848m), Lhotse, and Makalu. Afternoon drive back to Shigatse. Overnight: hotel, Shigatse.

Day 7

Return to Lhasa — Departure

Drive back to Lhasa. Transfer to Lhasa Gonggar Airport for your departure flight. Tour concludes.
